...and it's finally done, the story of two butterflies Bani and Thani. This books is being published by
Room to Read. Room to Read is an international Non Govt Organization that primarily works in two areas - literacy and gender equality in education. They work in collaboration
with communities and local governments across Asia and Africa to develop
literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children. Room to read develops their own content, and they publish books, sadly this very book wont be available for sale at regular book-shops, since they don't sell books, but distribute it free :-( (previously I had illustrated
this book for them) I had such a great time illustrating for Bani Thani. A lot of imagery is inspired by the old city in Ahmedabad (teen Darwaza area) , when I was a design student there we would venture out every weekend and explore, buy yards of fabric( from Ghamtiwala) eat street food and do photography, it's been fun revisiting all those places and illustrating this :-)
