La Galerie du Bois- The End of the Earth: Mail Art Exhibition
thank you Rainbow Ross for the images.
Brittany occupies a large peninsula in the north west of France, lying between the English Channel in the north and the Bay of Biscay to the south is also called finis terrae, this is only geographically.
' Finis terrae- the end of the earth' is a art show curated by Rainbow Ross, it includes the work of students alumni and faculty of pasca. I feel so happy to be a part of this show. After spending a fantastic semester there I always feel there is a bit of Brittany that I carry around with me. More pictures of individual art work here. these images here are from the show at the le Galerie du Bois in Pont Aven.

Conversations

Looking up at the stars, I know quite wellThe More Loving One
That, for all they care, I can go to hell,
But on earth indifference is the least
We have to dread from man or beast.
How should we like it were stars to burn
With a passion for us we could not return?
If equal affection cannot be,
Let the more loving one be me.
Admirer as I think I am
Of stars that do not give a damn,
I cannot, now I see them, say
I missed one terribly all day.
Were all stars to disappear or die,
I should learn to look at an empty sky
And feel its total dark sublime,
Though this might take me a little time.

This work draws heavily from my memory – snapshots of what I have observed and experienced. These are not vivid images – but interpretation of places and people as I define and understand them, sometimes real and quite often, imagined. Every painting to me is an extract from a story, a part of a narrative. These are pauses, which have followed from a train of thought wandering to another place or time.

new

I keep hoping that I would make regular updates on my blog and make it more interesting, engaging and critical of the things that I am up to. I guess I will just have to begin a new one for my recent work that I have been doing. I am doing post-bachelors at PASCA, in France (http://www.pontaven.org) , and would like to share some of the more recent work that I have started getting into. these are all oils on un-stretched canvas. sorry again, this is all in such haste.
